Life is full of planned events, scheduled meetings, work, timelines, flat tires, traffic jams, and other unexpected events that make up a very busy lifestyle. Most of those task are just a part of life, but they don’t benefit your well-needed self-indulgence or Hakuna-Matata moments. You know, those moments when you throw all caution to the wind, (well not all caution let’s keep it legal) and think about yourself for a change. The self that needs a nap, to cuddle up with your blanket and pillow to binge-watch your favorite Netflix series, take a long walk (don’t forget your mask) or to simply take to your favorite online shopping site, and splurge on those new pair of shoes you’ve been eyeing, have your favorite meal delivered, or whatever makes you happy. Mothers are masters at teaching us how to cook, clean, to be a good friend, and ultimately how to be a great spouse. What is often absent from that parental mentoring is the value of self-nurturing, it’s the missing art of SELF-LOVE! So, let’s talk about doing something emotionally intelligent, impulsivity, AKA, Serendipity.
Serendipity is not supposed to be a budget-buster, but a random, fortuitous, unmethodical, casual, unsystematic, and overall spontaneous explosion of decadence. Of course, this unrestrained gratification is very temporary and short-lived, but you need this from time to time and trust me, my friends, your body, mind, and soul will thank you.
This weekend is your time to get your happy back, and feel good doing it. Think about the 14 “R’s”, Regenerate, Renew, Regain, Restore, Revitalize, Respect yourself, Reflect, Relax, Release, Refresh, Relief, Recharge, Rejuvenate, and finally, RESULTS! This weekend is all about you, and how you love yourself is all up to you as well. Loving and caring for others in your life is just a part of who we are, but forgetting about nurturing yourself will result in REGRET! Wheeeew, I know that was a lot, but it’s all relative, and trust me, this is fool proof.
Thanks again for joining me today in my version of Serendipitous Saturday and Sunday, and remember today is your time to shine. Forget about COVID-19 for a moment, (well at least while you are relaxing) and…… Be Blessed!!
“Loving others is perfected when you first love yourself”
